4x Multiple Choice Exams & 2x Written Exams: Mathematics (60Q/30min), Numerical Reasoning (50Q/30min), Reading Comprehension (50Q/30min), Verbal Reasoning (60Q/30min), Persuasive Writing (1 topic/30min), Creative Writing (1 topic/30min)
Mathematics
Covers algebra, surds, indices, equations, linear and non-linear relationships, trigonometry, geometry, probability, statistics, financial mathematics, and more. Topics range from Year 7 to Year 10+ difficulty. Students must demonstrate fluency in multi-step problem solving under strict time pressure.
Numerical Reasoning
Tests the ability to interpret and analyse numerical data presented in tables, graphs, and charts. Questions involve percentages, ratios, averages, and logical deduction from data sets. Speed and accuracy are critical given the 50 questions in 30 minutes.
Reading Comprehension
Assesses understanding of written passages across fiction, non-fiction, and persuasive texts. Students must identify main ideas, infer meaning, evaluate arguments, and interpret vocabulary in context. Time management is essential with 50 questions in 30 minutes.
Verbal Reasoning
Evaluates language-based reasoning including analogies, odd-one-out, word relationships, sentence completion, and logical deduction. Requires a strong vocabulary and the ability to recognise patterns in language. 60 questions in 30 minutes demands rapid processing.
Persuasive Writing
Students are given one topic and 30 minutes to produce a well-structured persuasive essay. Markers assess the strength of arguments, use of evidence, logical structure, vocabulary, and writing conventions. A clear thesis and counterargument awareness are key.
Creative Writing
Students respond to a single prompt with an original creative piece in 30 minutes. Assessed on narrative structure, character development, descriptive language, originality, and technical accuracy. Planning the piece before writing is strongly recommended.
